Studying geography at Patcham High sparked my interest in how landscapes form, but it was a field trip to the Jurassic Coast that became a pivotal moment. Seeing the rivers and rock layers up close made me realise this was something I wanted to understand more deeply — it’s what led me to become a geomorphologist.

Ellie Crabbe is a Consultant Geomorphologist working with a civil engineering firm.

Since discovering her passion for geography during her GCSEs at Patcham High, Ellie has developed expertise in geomorphological surveys and the practical applications of geography in environmental science. After leaving Patcham High, she studied Geography at Brighton University and completed a Masters degree in Fluvial Geomorphology.
